El conjunto de viviendas se encuentra construido sobre el
solar de una antigua fragua demolida en los años 50 en el centro histórico de
Cehegin. En la demolición se encontró un cofre que estuvo rodando durante un
tiempo por el barrio y sirviendo para el juego de los niños locales. Un día el
cofre terminó de romperse mostrando en su doble fondo una cantidad ingente de
monedas de oro medievales. De ahí procede el nombre del edificio.
The housing complex is built on the site of an old forge demolished in the 50s in the historic center of Cehegin. In the demolition was found a chest that for a while was rolling around the neighborhood and serving for the game of local children. One day the chest was break displaying a hidden double bottom. This showed a great amount of medieval gold coins. Hence comes the name of the building.
